Dear Ones,

We know that you have been praying for us here in Congo and that gives us great hope and joy.  What an awesome God we serve!

The Colleges of Prayer in both Pointe Noire and Brazzaville went well and we feel that many people were able to deepen their prayer life.  Testimonies in both cities showed that God was dealing with some longstanding issues in people's lives.  One woman received an answer to prayer that she had been praying about for two years.  In Brazzaville the module was on Husbands and Wives praying together. Husbands and wives confessed sin against each other and you could sense a real freedom afterward in the forgiveness they gave each other.  Then as they were taught and led to bless each other,  you could sense the novelty of that act for most and yet the closeness it brought.  During the whole time,  there were battles being fought in the heavenlies....Thank you for standing with us.   Sharon and I were enabled to translate without too much difficulty although one phrase defied translation into French....." It'll knock your socks off!"

Kevin has preached the last two Sundays at the Sion and Du Rocher churches.   Pray that God will revitalize the Du Rocher church particularly.  They need a new touch from God.  Kevin's friend Saari finally called....he had been on a trip.  He and Kevin talked a long time and Kevin was able to tell him how Jesus healed his back.  Kevin said that it was interesting to note that Saari intently listens to everything Kevin says and even after the 6 months in the States,  remembered small comments he had made.  Pray that Kevin will soon have the joy of leading Saari to Jesus.   He is very open.

Tomorrow,   I will be flying to Brazza to help facilitate a Sharpening Your Interpersonal Skills  (SYIS) workshop.  We have 25 participants who are mostly church leaders and pastors. Pray for each of us as we travel.   Pray that we will have good health and energy....it is hot here!!  Pray also that we and the participants will be protected from the attacks of the enemy...we are studying how to live in the body according to God's Word.  Pray that we facilitators,  Anne Stephens ,  Al Stombaugh , and I will be instruments in the hands of our Father to open the eyes of these brothers and sisters. Pray that God will transform wrong patterns of living in the body of Christ.    I am looking forward on a personal level to being with my brother for a week!!!

The electricity problems remain the same...this is week 7 without any electricity.  Our neighborhood transformer is ruined and there is no word as to when we will get a new one.  Some rumers say that there is no money,  others say that it has to come from France on  a ship.  That is a scarry thought, since the harbor here is blocked by a ship that sank and no large ships have been able to get into the harbor.  Our local grocery store has no fruits and vegetables from France because their ship can't dock.   In a country where much of our food in imported, this is a matter of prayer also.

We are glad we can count on you to pray.  Thank you so much!   If you would like to partner with us in giving,  gifts can be sent to the CMA headquarters and marked "Work of McCabe"  (for a tax receipt)  or "Gift for McCabes" (which isn't tax exempt).  Your giving to the Great Commission Fund is what keeps us working here in Congo and we so much appreciate it.

  In Him,
   Joyce McCabe
