Thank you to all of those who prayed for our return trip to Burkina.  We were amazed at how smoothly everything went!  After all the delayed flights we experienced while in the U.S., our overseas flights both left on time and arrived early.  We so appreciated all of the notes we received from many of you assuring us of your prayers!

Our first Sunday back in Ouaga was a wonderful one.  We attended the small church that we spent our last term working with in Sector 27 of the city.  It was one of those services that happen frequently here where the people get so filled with joy that they come out into the aisles and dance down to the front of the church.  Our ears were literally throbbing with the louder-than-usual drum music! At the end of the service, we all went outside for a baptismal service.  Six young people were baptized and crowds from the neighborhood gathered around to watch the event.  The pastor announced that this important event was taking place in the presence of many witnesses – believers, unbelievers, and even evil spirits.  Therefore it was not to be taken lightly.  We rejoiced as we heard the testimonies of these young people who had decided to follow Jesus no matter what.

We would appreciate your prayers for the following:

 1. We are now working hard to get our new apartment in Ouaga 2000 ready to move into. Our plan is to move on Feb. 5th whether the work is finished or not.  We will be attending a conference in Bobo from Feb. 7-10 so would like to get moved before that.

 2. Debbi will begin teaching English again this week. Pray for opportunities to reach students with Christ’s love.

 3. Steve will be preaching on “The Christian’s Walk” at a Dafing pastors conference Feb. 22-24 in the town of Nouna, and will also be doing open-air evangelism in a nearby Dafing village.  Please pray for him and for those who will be hearing the Word.

 4. Pray for Debbi as she prepares to teach 12 MKs (“missionary kids”) in Bobo the first week of March. Pray that this week of teaching will be a blessing to kids and moms alike.

Thank you so much for your partnership with us as we serve here in Burkina Faso.  Your prayers make a difference!
