Adventure Group
We’ve
started a new group for
preteens ages 11-14
called the Adventure
Group. It meets
Wednesday night at the
same time as Kids for
Christ and Adult Prayer
Meeting. Currently,
the Adventure Group is
getting ready for the
release of the new
Chronicles of Narnia
Movie, Prince Caspian.
We’ve been watching
clips of the first
movie, The Lion, the
Witch, and the Wardrobe
and talking about how
things in the movie
remind us about things
in the Bible. It’s been
a great group so far,
and I have a feeling
there’ll be a whole lot
of adventure in store
for us.
We’d
like to go to the movie,
Prince Caspian, as a
group after it is
released on May 16. If
you are interested, be
sure to let Lindsey
Whitney know! |
Kids for Christ
is our Wednesday night
children’s program designed for
ages 4-11. There is a place for
everyone, and kids are grouped
by age level so they can learn
and have fun in the most
age-appropriate way. Kids for
Christ has just started a new
program called Faith Weaver
Friends.
Faith Weaver Friends is a
fantastic program that uses
upbeat music, science projects,
guest speakers, drama, crafts,
and games to teach the kids
about a Bible story or Bible
truth. The whole idea of Faith
Weaver Friends is showing kids
how they can weave their faith
into real life, and we use all
kinds of ways to do just that!
There’s something new and
different every week, so you
don’t want to miss a thing. This
is a great program to invite
your friends to, so bring them
on in for some fun! |

I'm
excited to be teaming up
with our children's
church director,
Paulette DeAngelo to
bring the kids a more
comprehensive children's
ministry.
Paulette had the idea
of coordinating what the
children were learning
during Children's Church
with what they are
learning in Kid's for
Christ, so that's what
we will be doing
starting in May. Kids
will be learning the
same general lesson on
Wednesday nights and
Sunday, but in different
ways. We hope that this
will help the kids see
many different ways they
can begin to weave their
faith into life. |

Each
child has their own
sticker chart where they
keep track of the
stickers they earn. They
can earn stickers for
all kinds of things
including bringing their
Bible, learning their
memory verse, bringing a
friend, and for just
coming! At the end of
the month, they trade in
their stickers for some
super cool prizes.
Sticker charts are just
one way we encourage
kids to keep heading in
the right direction.
Come on out and see for
yourself what the buzz
is about. You’ll be glad
you did!

To ignite a desire for a genuine
and passionate relationship with
Christ and to equip the kids for
the spiritual battle that they
are in.
Here's the article that explains
the new vision, if there's a
place for it:
CATCH THE VISION!
At East Lake Road Alliance, we
want to serve your children in
the best way that we can. We try
our hardest to make sure they
are having fun in their
children’s ministry classes
while learning about Scripture
at the same time. Recently, God
has laid in on Paulette
DeAngelo’s and my heart that we
need to get a little more
serious about teaching the
children the truth of God. Of
course, we’re not going to be
skimpy on fun, but we want to
recognize that it’s a spiritual
battle out there and we need to
be preparing our kids to win the
war! Paulette and I had a few
meetings and we’ve developed a
revised vision statement for our
children’s ministry programs. We
hope that you, as parents,
volunteers, teen helpers, and
even kids will CATCH THE
VISION and be inspired to equip
these children with the weapons
and armor of God. Our vision is:
To ignite a desire for a genuine
and passionate relationship with
Christ and to equip the kids for
the spiritual battle that they
are in.
Our curriculum will remain the
same, but our focus will shift
in order to emphasize the
importance of a relationship
with Christ more.
During this transition, we need
your help! We want you to keep
your eyes open for “Vision
Moments”. Whenever you see the
fruits of this vision occurring,
let me know so that we can
feature it in the Newsletter —
this will help us stay focused
and encourage all those involved
with Children’s Ministry.

Safety
Policies
We know it’s a scary
world out there, so we want to provide a
safe place for you and your child. Our
Team (anyone left alone with the kids)
all have their Child Abuse Clearances,
only one of the safeguards we use to
screen our workers. Our Team seeks to
keep kids physically safe through
constant supervision and keeping rooms
clear of potential hazards. In addition,
we strive to keep kids emotionally safe
by valuing each child and instituting
rules of respect for all. |
